Jeremy Clarkson of BBC's wildly popular 'Top Gear' show compares the V10 Audi R8 to America's own supercar, the Corvette ZR1. Clarskon, often known for being overly critical of American sports cars, for once offers a fair review. As always, his colorful analysis incorporate a little more sideways action and tire smoke than Consumer Reports. Enjoy the ride.
Sports car fans have long been waiting for Cadillac to release a coupe version of its hot CTS. Sure, you could buy an XLR coupe, but that just isn’t in most buyers’ price range. The Fiesta is a premium small car that currently sells very well in Europe, but Ford’s challenge in the states is to convince people that there is such thing as a “premium” small car. We’ve seen some interesting videos from the Fiesta Agents, but none as exciting as BBC’s Top Gear. While they aren’t technically Fiesta Agents, they sure do a great job thoroughly testing the Fiesta, including having it chased by a Corvette inside a Mall. Check it out!
Porsche today unveiled details of its most audacious model yet, the 2010 911 GT3 RS. The new model will be officially introduced September 17th at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Like the engine featured in the GT3, the RS bumps displacement from 3.6 to 3.8 liters. It now delivers 450 horsepower from the naturally aspirated powerplant, reaching a stratospheric 8500 rpm redline. The 15 additional horsepower over the base GT3 brings total output to 118 hp per liter from the six cylinder boxer engine. Even with all this raucous performance, Porsche claims the RS is fully suitable for everyday use, not simply for the track.
